The Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute Gala paid tribute to the work and memory of the late Alexander McQueen last night at the annual ball and marked the opening of the exhibition Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty which will run until 31st July. In honour of McQueen there was 30-foot oak tree in the Great Hall, reminiscent of those on his property in Sussex, and bagpipers at the entrance. Unsurprisingly, a plethora of guests were dressed by McQueen and celebrities in their plenty turned out to pay homage to the late designer.
Once again we saw an abundance of nude tones on the red carpet with the occasional brightly coloured dress including the stunning red Alexander McQueen gown worn by Giselle who was our best dressed of the evening. Here are favourite looks from the event.
